Happy Anniversary!

Hello everyone!

Today, if this still counts as the 17th, is the one-year anniversary of Newlife's first release to the internet. It's also very close to Newlife's second birthday - coding on Newlife started on the 28th October 2013 at 10:20pm.

To celebrate such a momentous milestone, I've re-uploaded version 0.1.0 of Newlife. This was replaced just three days after release when Cubano found a bug where savegames were being corrupted. Only a few hundred people ever tried it.

If you weren't one of them, then now you too can enjoy the splendid first public version of Newlife. Wonder at the amazing 26-week time limit! Glory at the savegame corruption bug that makes it impossible to load games once certain events have happened! Marvel at the near-complete absence of random events!

You can get it from Mega here in .exe format. The first versions weren't released as jars, so having just one filehost and a format that won't work on some operating systems is just part of the historical verisimilitude.
New players should not start out with this version - get 0.3.11 using the links to the right instead.

Have fun and happy anniversary!

  1. Um, I just want to point out that as of Newlife .3.12, attempting to load a saved game from version 0.1 still shows the exact same error message it did a year ago. Way to bug fix, Splendid.

    1. Thanks, but I don't think we can rule out version mismatch at this point, unless you're a time-traveler from the past.

  2. Happy Anniversary! Thanks for making such a great game. I promise to join your Patreon once I stop being a poor (which should happen sometime early next year).

    1. Thanks :)
You know, for a moment when you mentioned making babies I thought you were talking about all the impregnation stuff in the game :D

  4. The baker takes you into her shop, and introduces you to her husband. To your relief, he doesn't seem annoyed at being replaced on he [typo] poster.

  6. when will we do something different when selecting the work option?
also will there be an option to select the breast option bigger than the large size?

    1. Never. Four sizes is all you get. I don't specify what "large" means any more though, so you can imagine they're basketball-sized if you like.

New work options will come with the work major update - not until after friendship is done, which is some way off. Once 0.4 is out I'll run a vote and see which major update comes next so it'll depend on whether the patrons prefer improved work content over other large updates like marriage or lesbians.

  8. Greetings! I recently came across your game and was pleasantly surprised. For a long time I did not get so much pleasure from reading the content. I would like to inform you that I have a very interesting proposals for the development of the content of your game. Unfortunately I could not find the feedback from you, that would send you a text with the proposals. You could get acquainted with it and maybe some of the things you would be interested! I could clearly build their sentence in the text, and send it to you. Can I ask you for an email?

I apologize for my English is not the native language.

  9. Hey,
I've just noticed a typo in the maxi dress description, dunno if it was reported or fixed in the patreon version, whatever, here it is:

A long dress, this one isn't really suitable for casual occasions - it's the sort of thing you'd wear to a club or one (<--) a date.

OMG that totally ruined the game for me, 1/10.

    Cheers,
    Archmage Bob of Single Color
