Newlife 0.7.20 has been released. Early-access Patrons can find it in the creations section here. The changelog is below.

 
The previous version is now public. You can download it using the links on the right-hand side of the blog.

I think that saves should be compatible across versions this time, though I haven't tested this and can't make any promises.

For new players - just use one of the links to the right to get a zipfile containing Newlife. Once unzipped, you'll see a folder containing .jar and .exe files. Either one of these will run the game. 
For either version you'll need to have Java installed. A lot of programs use Java so you might well already have it. If the jar shows up as an unrecognised file type, then you probably don't. In that case you can get it from http://www.java.com/. 
The exe should tell you if you don't have the right version on your computer, but you'll still need to install java to run the game.
There's a guide for new players here which includes some troubleshooting tips for installation & downloading.

 

This release continues with lesbian engagement content, in particular allowing the player to propose.

 

Major changes & additions:

• You can now buy a wedding dress when you're engaged to a woman.

• You can propose to your girlfriend. This is accessed via a home-date action when you have strong feelings for her. You'll then be given a choice of whether to propose right away or to set up a special proposal. Special proposals are accessed from the week planner as a weekend action after making this decision.

Minor changes:

• Added an alternative intimate orgasm to the standing lesbian makeout, though there was a typo in the existing one that no-one reported to me so maybe this one isn't getting seen all that often...

• Added a new NPC action for when the PC is giving cunnilingus which is available to INNOCENT characters during NORMAL or TENDER encounters.

• Added a new “wrap your legs around him” action to the lying MF makeout scene. The main goal of this is to resolve and issue Helvette reported with NPCs initiating doggy-style over missionary. When your legs are wrapped the NPC will not initiate doggy-style, anal, cunnilingus or 69. To access this, you need to have your legs open and also to have your underwear exposed or removed – this last condition is to avoid the need of re-writes in shared undressing content that's used by scenes other than the missionary one.

• Updated the lying makeout scene description to mention legs open/wrapped when appropriate.

• Updated the intro text to the lying-down lesbian makeout to reflect which character is dominant.

Changes for user-submitted content:

• Transitions to missionary sex may optionally have a legsWrapped parameter to start the scene in that sub-position.

Bugfixes:

• Fixed some text issues.

Those of you who follow my public patreon posts will have seen that I'd been stricken with a nasty cold. I've thankfully now recovered enough at least to get out the next version of the game.

This release allows your lesbian partner to propose marriage. Due to my sickness I didn't end up dedicating much time to smaller changes, but I did manage to get a few in.

Major changes & additions:

• Your girlfriend can now propose to you, if conditions are right. There are three possible proposal scenes, with varying requirements. Actual lesbian marriage is not in the game yet so getting engaged is as far as you can go for now.

• Updated the minievent content with a new version submitted by Lost Trout with new events that can fire when a friend asks to see your wedding dress. This is only available for straight engagements – in any case, lesbian engagements can't lead to buying a wedding dress yet.

Minor changes:

• One new male orgasm text possibility for the missionary position, though it has some fairly specific requirements.

• Female NPCs will now actually name their babies. They'll use their own namelist for this.

• Added a romantic speech action to the PC-dominant strapon sex scene.

Changes for user-submitted content:

• Fixed a formatting issue that meant the pronoun-getters weren't showing up in the documentation's table-of-contents. Thanks to Lost Trout for reporting this.

Bugfixes:

• Fixes to some text issues. Thanks to Keenam for reporting some of these.

This release adds a PC-dominant strapon-scene so now you can return the favour for your lesbian partner.

Major changes & additions:

• Added a PC-dominant strap-on lesbian sex scene, to mirror the existing NPC-dominant one. Thanks to A Clash of Purple for suggesting this.

Minor changes:

• Gave male jerk NPCs more chauvinistic text when refusing to help the PC calm a crying baby.

• Some adjustments to the logic behind initiating strapon sex.

• Added a new action to the spitroast scene where the PC can caress the man behind her's balls.

• Party-girl lesbian NPCs will no longer have text saying they're excited at getting drunk when they buy you drinks while pregnant.

• Updated when an NPC comes to spend time with you in the lesbian club to better handle her being your girlfriend.

Changes for user-submitted content:

• Following a request by Stochastic, made the formerly male-only CHEATER trait available for female custom NPCs. The trait will not be added randomly to female characters though, because it has no official content at present. If that changes then I'll added it to standard character creation, but it would be confusing for players to see cheater-flagged female NPCs in a version where they will never actually cheat.

Bugfixes:

• Fixes to some text issues. Thanks to Insomniac for reporting some of these.

• Fixed a bug reported by Lost Trout where the hasOtherOutfitOfType method was not working.

This release adds a lesbian receiving-cunnilingus scene to go along with the already-existing giving-cunnilingus one as well as a bunch of smaller changes.

Major changes & additions:

• Added a new lesbian receiving-cunnilingus scene.

Minor changes:

• Bralettes and sports bras now use “bralette” and “sports bra” as their basicDescs instead of just “bra”.

• Added the ability to swap between the two lesbian cunnilingus scenes when the receiving partner has a non-simultaneous orgasm. The option will not appear when you're giving cunnilingus to a woman with the ROUGH attitude towards you.

• Added some text to the lesbian cunnilingus keep going action.

• Based on an old request from MadCat, added better handling for virgins to the sex-at-the-adult-shop scenario, including a possible alternative sex route.

• Improved the logic behind the “undeniable proof of your infidelity” text when discovering you're pregnant at the GP.

• It;s now possible for the PC to orgasm while having sex at the adult shop – after adding an orgasm possibility to the “deflowered by a selfish sleaze” route it felt odd for there not to be one for the normal sex path. So, here it is. It will only happen if several “preferences” of the PC's are met but this does include some single traits like hair-trigger, sensitive-pussy and sultry; the last because I'm assuming a character with the openly-sexual sultry trait is more open to being seen having sex.

• Following an old suggestion from Cubano, added some alternative lines on entering the nightclub for pregnant characters.

• Added some potential pregnant lines on entering the lesbian club.

• Also added low-cut-top lines on lesbian club entry.

• Following another note from Cubano, characters with very low femininity will now punch instead of slapping when confronting someone over nasty texts about you after finding his phone.

• Reduced bastard points added when an NPC refuses to pull out but the PC is on the pill or already-pregnant.

• Following a suggestion from stochastic, adjusted the “kick out” date option so that the NPC is less surprised if he has recently done something to anger the PC during sex or makeout.

Changes for user-submitted content:

• LESBIAN_RECEIVING_CUNNILINGUS is now an allowable scene transition. See the yml syntax guide for details.

• Added hasOtherOutfitOfType method to the pc object, as requested by GrimGear. This will return true if the PC has an outfit of the specified type, not counting any she's currently wearing – this can be used to check if the PC will be able to change clothes.

Bugfixes:

• Fixes to some text issues. Thanks to Sync for reporting some of these.

• Fixed a few places where there could be potential article issues (e.g. “a” instead of “an”). Please let me know if you spot any more of these.

• Fixed a problem reported by stochastic where having a custom NPC with a pre-set name that also appears on a standard namelist could lead to two NPCs existing with the same name. The fix should resolve most of those issues, but it is still possible in rare circumstances to get duplicate-named NPCs where custom characters are involved.

Public version updated

Hi all,

I mistakenly linked a buggy version of 0.7.15 as the public release yesterday. I've now updated this to 0.7.15b which shouldn't crash when you enter a sex scene.

I only had the patron version of 0.7.15b to hand, so that's the one I've uploaded. I've also updated the link on the tfgames.site entry.

Sorry for the mix-up and thanks to the people who let me know about this!

This release makes Maki and Vanessa - the nightclub lesbian dancers - into proper NPCs and gives them some updated content.

Major changes & additions:

• Converted the nightclub lesbians (formerly “Maki” and “Vanessa”) into proper NPCs and updated their scene to handle the potential for a wider range of characters.

• Added a new repeatable random event with the posh club lesbian. This can potentially end with her having sex with a man (various jerk/selfish men can be chosen). If she gets pregnant then her and her partner will break up, disabling their special scenes but allowing them to appear as normal NPCs in the club or lesbian club.

Minor changes:

• Tweaked some text in the leadin to the dance with Maki & Vanessa.

• Added “Maki” and “Vanessa” to the default name lists now that the preset characters are procedurally generated.

• Getting the pervy sales client to have sex with the posh lesbian will unlock an action when selling to him that gives you a significant bonus to your persuasion score.

• Npcs with the long-lasting trait get reduced arousal gain at high arousal levels (-1 to all increases with a minimum of 1 when at ENJOY threshold or higher).

Changes for user-submitted content:

• Added traits (POSH_NIGHTCLUB_LESBIAN & FLIRTY_NIGHTCLUB_LESBIAN) to allow custom versions of the nightclub lesbians.

• Added a yml file with disabled versions of the nightclub lesbians that reflect, as closely as possible, how they were defined in older versions. Enable these if you specifically want “Maki” and “Vanessa”.

• Following a request by DoctaSax, added a new allowable scene transition: OUTFIT_CHANGE. This is very short subscene where the PC can change her clothes to any of her created outfits. See the documentation in the YML_Syntax_Guide for details.

Bugfixes:

• Fixes to some text issues. Thanks to Tryingthegames and JulianR.Amazing for reporting some of these.

• Fixed a bug reported by Zab and AnarChYsT where the jerk could initiate scene transitions that don't support the partner phone call if he does so after the phone call happens but before the PC actually answers.

This is the PMW release for 2022.

Major changes & additions:

• Added variant date/sex/makeout content around being caught in the act while cheating. To access it you need to be making out with a male jerk who is not an inept lover on a date at home while you're in a relationship with someone you don't know has the LIKES_TO_SHARE trait (i.e. either they don't have it, or your character doesn't know yet). There's a few more minor conditions, but those should cover the main ones.

• The PC can now get an abortion if the relevant property is enabled (it is disabled by default). Other conditions: you must have money to pay for it, must not have an active baby-making vow, must not be baby-crazy.

  The PC's partner (if she has one) will not react to her getting an abortion: given that it's disabled by default, I don't feel it justifies extensive new content. Let's assume she talks to them about it off-camera.

Minor changes:

• Some internal rework of the makeout scenes. This shouldn't affect how they appear to players, but please let me know if you find any new bugs.

• Updated the recently-added open relationship scene to better handle an already-pregnant girlfriend. Thanks to Sync for highlighting some issues here.

• Blocked impregnation the same week a pregnancy is ended (by abortion or giving birth) so the PC can not get pregnant from sex while she was already pregnant. The mechanics would support an infertile period after giving birth, but I've chosen not to implement this at present so you can get pregnant the following week: let me know if you think a safe-time following birth would improve the game.

• Added a break-up option to lesbian home-dates, as requested by Saint Destiny. It has the same conditions as the MF version: specifically, it's blocked at high love levels.

• Added the new phone-call multiplier to weight_modifiers.properties, as suggested by JulianR.Amazing.

• Updated some makeout speech actions to recognise if the PC's partner is on the phone.

• Updated some sex actions to recognise the PC being on the phone. This also includes adding suspicion increases so it may be a little harder to keep things secret from your partner.

• Reduced NPC arousal gain from sex during the partner-phone-call route if he has the long-lasting trait.

• The Jerk gets a -ve to arousal when the pc's partner ends the phone call to come to her flat as he's motivated to keep the sex going longer. This is increased if he has the long-lasting trait.

Bugfixes:

• Fixes to some text issues. Thanks to Saint Destiny, StuntCuffer, Zab, OrangeJuice and Sync for reporting some of these.

• Fixed a bug reported by StuntCuffer where confessing cheating to your girlfriend could error with an un-set NPC reaction.

• Fixed an error reported by OrangeJuice where the impregnator-friend-breeding-help event chain was not properly handling the PC telling him not to target her girlfriend.

• Fixed a bug with the new caught-cheating content reported by JulianR.Amazing and StuntCuffer where the scene would error if the PC had sex with the jerk again after having been on the phone before in that scene-chain.

• Fixed an issue from the preliminary version where some of the new actions were only implemented in doggy-style and not other sex scenes.

• Fixed an issue where some it was still possible to transition to scenes that didn't support partner-phone-call content while on the phone.
