Hi all,
Newlife currently has 100 male names - more than sufficient for the game but it'd add a bit of variety if there were more.
Obviously I can continue my previous strategy of finding online lists of popular names in the UK and just copying them in there en-masse, but I thought I'd check if there were any names players specifically wanted to be added to the game.
If there's one you want to see, just leave a comment and I'll consider adding it.

DeleteYou could search Babble.com for the top names by letter. Also, is there any way to manually remove some names from the seeding? I would prefer not to get sexually pursued by someone with the same name as my brother.

DeleteNot right now, but I have had a recent request for the lists to be externalised to text files and if that happens then it'll be possible to edit them manually.

About 1500 names, half women, half men split into sorted files. Just hope I can link stuff here.
You might get a virus varning, I got it when I downloaded it myself. So do a virus scan of if you're afraid of that.

Delete@Li'Thun Vas Nexus : Liam is already there. A good way to see name avalaible if you got patreon version is to enable to psychic cheat and in options, change the value for "Additionnals males NPC" to at least 100 or more.
ReplyDelete@Splendid Ostrich : You should truly at the very least add some Japanese, Chinese, Korean and so on name for asian men IG. Maybe making it so 90% of asian men have an asian name and the last 10% could be western one as not all of them have asian name but most do. (My previous landlord was a chinese called peter) However white and black name would not end up with those name.
The game doesn't currently support choosing names by anything other than gender. I may at some point add race-specific lists but for now it's the same list for all - that's why I removed the multiple versions of "Mohammed" that appear in the online list of popular UK names that I used as the basis for the ones currently in there.
