Newlife 0.7.9 has been released.
Early-access Patrons can find it in the creations section here. The changelog is below.
The previous version is now public. You can download it using the links on the right-hand side of the blog. The public version's changelog is here.
For
new players - just use one of the links to the right to get a zipfile
containing Newlife. Once unzipped, you'll see a folder containing .jar
and .exe files. Either one of these will run the game.
For
either version you'll need to have Java installed. A lot of programs
use Java so you might well already have it. If the jar shows up as an
unrecognised file type, then you probably don't. In that case you can
get it from http://www.java.com/.
The
exe should tell you if you don't have the right version on your
computer, but you'll still need to install java to run the game.

This release adds the standing lesbian makeout. Sometimes a short changelog just means the main headline change for a release was very big. I've been quite distracted over the last month by some ongoing health issues though so I'm afraid this time it's just a bit of a light release.
Major changes & additions:
Added a lesbian standing makeout. This can be accessed by showering together in the morning as long as you didn't makeout in bed upon waking up, or in the lesbian nightclub when you're with a party-girl npc.
Minor changes:
Increased the default number of standard female NPCs from 4 to 6. This can be modified in settings with the “additional female NPCs” option, which can be negative if you want fewer. The minimum is unchanged at 3.
Added a kiss-body makeout action where your partner kisses your bare back which can happen when they're behind you. While this was mainly added for the new makeout scene, there is a male version as well.
Bugfixes:
Fixes to text issues. Thanks to StuntCuffer and Sync for reporting some of these.
Fixed a bug reported by StuntCuffer where the cheating-blackmail scene could error due to a bad method call.
hey! i'm sorry if you've already been asked this question or if the answer is simple, but how do i change files to yml? i've done the rename way, which changes the type to yml, but then when i open the game and do test npcs, it says there's a probelm with the yml file itself and that the file is invalid. it also says that there is a problem with the file being read itself.

DeleteWindows by default doesn't show file extensions, so if you just create a text file and then name it something like file.yml you're actually getting a file called file.yml.txt which is still a text file.
Instead, from windows explorer select the "view" menu from the bar at the top and click the checkbox named "file name extensions". This will now show your text files as filename.txt and you can then use rename to make them yml files by replacing the txt with yml. Windows will pop up a warning message saying that changing an extension might make the file unusable, but just click okay.
Alternatively, you can copy one of the existing yml files and just change the contents. That way the file type shouldn't change and you shouldn't have to change the extension.
To test whether the contents of your yml file is valid yaml syntax, use http://www.yamllint.com/
Not sure if it's already in the game and I'm blind, but for last patch's race updates, it'd be nice if, in the settings, I could weight the appearance of each race like the game does with personalities.

DeleteI have a suggestion; I noticed there were some blocks of text about pulling all the way out and thrusting back in again during the anal scenes and it gave me the idea that there could be a chance for it to go back in but in the wrong hole. Another idea that kind of piggybacks off of that is a trait where the male partners if they really like to play dirty, they can "accidentally" change holes to try to get you pregnant during anal.
